Amusement park operated by LGU opens in Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte


KAUSWAGAN, Lanao del Norte – The local government on Saturday, Oct. 15, officially opened its amusement park in the boardwalk in Barangay Poblacion.

Five major rides area featured – ferris wheel, picaroon, airbike, carousel, and train.

The amusement center operates on weekdays from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends.

All rides are P50 person except for the airbike which is P300 plus the environmental fee of P10.

"This is only the beginning, every year we will be adding new ride here," said Mayor Rommel Arnado during the opening and blessing.

“Today is a blessed day for having all of these, although this is not cheap but it’s worth money to spend from the municipality especially coming from being war-torn, I think the people deserve to have this not only Kauswagan but the entire Lanao del Norte and Iligan City. We are very proud of having an amusement park, the first and only in Northern Mindanao," he added.

Construction cost P26 million and funding came from a local initiative for a creation and establishment of a tourism destination here.

"Hindi namin inutang to (We didn’t take out a loan for this), we set aside a budget to do this kind of amusement activity and it's all being paid in full,” emphasized Arnado.

He assured that all rides are safe and passed quality control. "We make sure that it is very safe, in fact, the we had the rides run for a month to make it sure."
