PCSO donates medical service vehicles to LGUs, hospital


Six patient transport vehicles and one emergency medical service vehicle were turned over by Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) General Manager Mel Robles to several local government units (LGUs) and a hospital on Friday, Oct. 14

In a Facebook post, PCSO said that the following received the donated vehicles: Vice Mayor Pedro M. Ong Jr. for the Municipality of Baler, Aurora; Mayor Dionisio Neil Balite for the Municipality of Valencia, Bohol; Mayor Vilma A. Germino for the Municipality of Can-Avid, Eastern Samar; Mayor Gina Ty for the Municipality of Taft, Eastern Samar; Loreto B. Doydoy Jr. for the Municipality of Compostela, Davao De Oro; Commander Junnifer O. Cantal for the Lakas Dagatnin ng Pilipinas, Sangley Point, Cavite, and Engr. John Melchor Namoc for the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital, Tagbiliran City, Bohol.

Assistant General Manager for Charity Sector Dr. Larry R. Cedro, Charity Assistance Department Manager Atty. Marissa O. Medrano, and Board Secretary Atty. Reymar H. Santiago were also present at the ceremony.

The donation was a part of PCSO's Medical Transport Vehicle Donation Program which provides medical transport vehicles to areas affected by armed conflicts and in geographically isolated locations, the agency said.

PCSO added that this program also targets to help those residing in vulnerable communities and disadvantaged areas where there are no immediate and safe transport systems for patients to and from medical treatment facilities.
