President Ferdinand "Bongbong Marcos, Jr. has approved the promotion of 12 senior police officials, including two officers to the rank of three star general.
Promoted to three-star rank or Police Lieutenant General were Benjamin Santos, Jr., the PNP deputy chief for Operations, and Patrick Villacorte, the area commander of the PNP Area Police Command- Eastern Mindanao.
Also promoted to two-star rank or Police Major General are Oliver Enmodias, the deputy commander of the APC-Northern Luzon; Robert Rodriguez, the director of the Directorate for Personnel Records and Management (DPRM); Benjamin Acorda, Jr., the director of the Directorate for Intelligence; and, Arthur Cabalona, deputy commander of the APC-Visayas.
Marcos also promoted six new generals, or to the rank of Police Brigadier General: Cosme Abrenica, executive officer of the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM); Enrico Vargas, the executive officer of APC-Visayas; Benedicto Pintor, the deputy regional director of Police Regional Office 10; Carlito Gaces, the deputy regional director of Police Regional Office 1; Joseph Bayan, the chief of the Inspection and Audit Division, of the Internal Affairs Service; and, Kirby John Kraft, the district director of the Southern Police District.
Gen. Rodolfo Azurin, Jr., chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), administered the oath of office of the 12 senior police officials in a ceremony held on Friday, Oct. 14.
The promotion, he said, was based on the recommendation of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the National Police Commission.
