Joyce Pring defends self following backlash over comment on non-believers

TV host Joyce Pring has come out to offer an explanation regarding her viral comment on non-believers supposedly going to hell.

She made the polarizing comment on Wil Dasovich's podcast.

In the said “Unpacking Christianity” episode, the two discussed “in-depth questions" about God, Christianity. among others.

The teaser showed Wil asking Joyce if she believes a “non-believer can go to heaven.”

She answered no.

It immediately received mixed reactions.

While some praised Joyce for her stand, there are others who were critical of her.

In a lengthy post, Joyce explained: "I’ve seen many things said about me in the past 2 days — mean things, horrible names, false stories, etc. So I just want to clear the air here and say this: some of you guys are absolutely right; I’ve been a bad person."

"Maybe even a worse person than you’d think. I’ve had the messiest history, I’ve made bad decisions, I’ve hurt people— I’ve done it all, and if I’m being honest, I still make pretty awful mistakes to this day," she added.

According to her, that’s precisely why she believes in the gospel of Jesus Christ - "that salvation comes only through Him; not through our works, or by our own merit."

She reiterated: "Jesus died on the Cross precisely for hopeless, depressed, sinful people like me — because I’d have no chance at Heaven if it were just up to me."

"God loves us so much that He made a way for us to be reconciled to Him through Jesus. Yes, we are sinful. But He died on the Cross and bore our sin and shame not only so that we can be saved, but also that we would be transformed, renewed, and experience what True love, peace, and joy mean. All we need to do is humble ourselves to believe and repent," she noted.

"This is the greatest gift I have ever received — by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. I used to be a shameful sinner, and now I am STILL an imperfect, bruised, calloused, wonky, Christ-follower. But by the grace of God, I have surrendered my life to Him and continue to walk with Him through all seasons — because I know that true life can only be found through Him."

Joyce urged naysayers to listen to the podcast in full.

"Love you guys. And I mean, all of you."
