Jeffrey Hidalgo named best director at NY film festival

Jeffrey Hidalgo was named Best Director (feature film) at the International Film Festival Manhattan (IFFM) 2022 in New York Saturday, Oct. 15, for “Lampas Langit (Beyond Heaven).”

Starring Ricky Davao, Baron Geisler, Christine Bermas and Chloe Jenna, among others, the film was released by Viva last August.

It tells the story of a struggling writer having a hard time keeping his marriage afloat. His woes will be further confounded when he meets his literary hero and his beautiful daughter.

In his speech, Jeffrey described the film as a “passion project.”

He thanked his actors, his producers as with IFFM organizers .

The singer-actor-writer-director also posted about the feat on social media.

He wrote: “Best Director Feature Film Award at the International Film Festival Manhattan 2022. I am still in awe. Thank you Lord! I dedicate this award to everyone involved in our film Lampas Langit (‘Beyond Heaven’). I couldn’t have done this without you guys.”
