27th Busan International Film Festival wraps up: 161,145 attendees, winners announced

The 27th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) ended its 10-day run on Oct. 14 with a ecord number of attendees as social distancing rules were eased and 100 percent capacity was allowed.

The BIFF started on Oct. 5 in Busan, South Korea. According to organizers, 242 films from 71 countries were screened under the Official Selection, while 101 films had World and International Premieres. There were also 161 films presented at the Community BIFF and BIFF Everywhere.

A total of 161,145 people attended the film festival with 74 percent seat occupancy.

There were 7,542 guests and participants at the festival including 3,189 domestic guests and 752 international guests.

Filmmakers from the Philippines won awards in the Scholarship Program of BIFF. They are:
