A lotto and small town lottery (STL) share worth P2,789,002.13 was turned over by Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) General Manager Mel Robles to the Mandaluyong City local government unit (LGU) on Friday, Oct. 14.
The check was personally received by Mandaluyong City Mayor Benjamin S. Abalos, PCSO said.
"This money that you have just donated to us would go a long way," Abalos said in an interview with PCSO.
National Capital Region Department Manager Eufracio Fufugal Jr. and Charity Assistance Department Manager Marissa O. Medrano were also present at the event.
The Las Piñas City LGU also received its lotto and STL share from the agency amounting to P3,230,026.59 on Oct. 4.
The check was received by Mayor Imelda Tobias Aguila.
Last Aug. 10, Robles also turned over a P16,305,343.79 check to the Quezon City LGU which was received by Mayor Joy G. Belmonte.
This amount was from PCSO's revenue from the city last January to June 2022.
On Aug. 8, Robles also handed out a P2,699,755.55 check to Marikina City Mayor Marcelino Reyes Teodoro and a P3,516,605 check to Pasay City Mayor Imelda Gallardo Calixto-Rubiano.
"Pursuant to Executive Order No. 357-A, a five (5%) percent share from the thirty (30%) percent Lotto Charity Fund shall be granted to Local Government Units where lotto tickets are sold," PCSO said.
