'My mother has no vested interests': Sandro reacts to 'smear campaign' vs First Lady
First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos has "no vested interests" and merely wants to protect her husband, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.

Thus, said Ilocos Norte 1st district Rep. Sandro Marcos in an interview with broadcaster Anthony Taberna that was posted on the latter's YouTube channel.
In the interview, the 28-year-old Marcos was asked to comment on the emerging smear campaign (Taberna's term) online against his mother, the First Lady.
"The last thing she wants to do is to be in the spotlight. Ayaw na ayaw niya yan, eversince. Gusto lang niya nasa background siya, tahimik lang nagta-trabaho. Eh of course naging First Lady (She has never liked that eversince. She only wants to be in the background, to work silently. Of course, she became the First Lady)," Rep. Marcos said.
"Pero hight sa lahat, sana matandaan ng tao na ang nanay ko, ang prayoridad lang niya ay siguraduhin na protektado ang aking tatay, protektado ang Pangulo (But most of all, I hope the people remember that my mother's priority is to protect my father, to protect the President). And she only wants the best for my dad," Rep. Marcos said, referring to President Marcos.
"Lahat naman ng tao may interes, lahat naman ng tao may gusto silang mangyari, may gusto silang gawin. But walang vested interest yung nanay ko eh. Asawa siya ng tatay ko (Everybody has interests, everybody wants to make something happen, to accomplish something. But my mother has no vested interests. She's the wife of my father)," the Ilocos Norte congressman said.
