Lambda Rho Sigma Sorority holds legal aid event for a cause


Lambda Rho Sigma Sorority conducted “Project FLAME: Free Legal Aid and Medical Exigencies” at Escopa 2, Quezon City last Sept. 18, 2022.

In partnership with the Lambda Rho Beta Fraternity, Rotary Club of Sta. Mesa, Quezon City, District 3780, and University of the East Legal Aid Clinic, the Lambda Rho Sigma Sorority spearheaded "Project FLAME," which is geared towards tending to the legal and medical needs of the residents of Escopa.

The project was made possible by volunteer lawyers from the Rotary Club, University of the East, and Lambda Rhoan alumni. The Rotary Club of Sta. Mesa, Quezon City, District 3780 was headed by Atty. Mark Resty Royo Derit, while volunteer lawyers from the University of the East were headed by Atty. Ma. Fatimah Villanueva. Select medical practitioners also volunteered their services for the members of the Escopa 2 community.

Project FLAME—Volunteer lawyers from the University of the East, Rotary Club of Sta. Mesa, Quezon City (District 3780), and Rhoan lawyers, together with members of the Lambda Rho Sigma Sorority and residents of Escopa II, Quezon City participate in Project FLAME.

The event was successfully attended by at least 100 volunteers and clients and meals were served by 3qualitea, a small cafe located in Marikina City. It was also made possible through the donations of several generous sponsors such as Joselito Rosario, Christian Flores, Cesar Cordova, Cesar Ian-Mecua, and Dr. Josephine Y. Lu.
