'Lahat ng tao sa crowd walang damit': Sandro shares dad's funny advice on how to calm nerves

Ilocos Norte 1st district Rep. Sandro Marcos seems like a confident speaker now in the House plenary, but that doesn't mean he didn't get jitters when he first tried to get into politics.

Broadcaster Anthony Taberna asked Rep. Marcos in an interview posted on the former's YouTube channel about how he learned to speak in public so well.

"Sa totoo lang po practice lang yan, practice...But sa totoo lang noong ako ay nagsimula, gunaganun pa yung kamay ko, nerbyos na nerbyos, kinakabahan talaga ako magsalita (In truth, it's just practice...But in truth, when I was starting, my hands were shaking because of jitters and I was so nervous about talking). You just get used to it," Rep. Marcos said.

The first-time congressman then shared to the popular broadcaster a "technique" passed down to him by his father, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., on how to calm his nerves whenever he has to speak before a large crowd.

"Never kong makakalimutan, noong nagsimula ako, sabi ng tatay ko , 'Just imagine lahat ng tao sa crowd walang admit. Para mawala ang nerbyos mo (Never will I forget what my dad said when I was starting, 'Just imagine that everybody in the crowd have no clothes on. This will get rid of your nerves')," he said.

The advice made Taberna chuckle, but the solon from Ilocandia insisted that it's effective.

"Just breathe, magpahinga ka (rest up), don't worry. It's funny advice, but it works," he said.
