How to choose the right used car under Toyota T-Sure

A wide selection for the savvy buyer

Admittedly, purchasing a car can be daunting, what with the high prices of new vehicles, the accompanying expenses like insurance and registration, as well as any other paperwork if one were to opt for financing.

Thankfully, there’s another option on the table: quality used cars. Though some may hesitate over the idea, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) hopes to change all this with their T-Sure program. Formerly known as Toyota Certified Used Vehicle (TCUV), T-Sure is the product of TMP’s 10 years of experience with its used vehicle program.

Professional assessment

Unlike buying from conventional used car lots, the T-Sure Program boasts of a well-established, systematic operation for assessment, refurbishment, pricing, certification, and warranty to ensure the quality and condition of every unit.

Vehicles under the T-Sure program go through a stringent 211-point check. This allows Toyota to go through every aspect of the vehicle, from appearance, to performance, functionality, and safety. Any problems and critical parts are then serviced. Customers are also assured of fair pricing because TMP uses a T-Sure Used Car app with a built-in pricing tool showing the real-time price range of various models, depending on quality level and local market pricing.

Three tiers to choose from

Thanks to this systematic evaluation process, T-Sure offers three types of products at varied price points to better fit customers’ needs and budget.

To more easily identify which is which, each T-Sure vehicle on offer comes with a color-coded plate number, depending on the tier. Vital information is also displayed on the windshield, such as the vehicle year, make and model, transmission type, and even mileage.

Toyota Certified Elite-rated vehicles (yellow plate) come with a one-year warranty on engine and transmission, which can be claimed at any Toyota outlet nationwide. These are typically low mileage, high quality vehicles that still perform as new.

Toyota Value Plus-rated vehicles (red plate) come with a three-month warranty on engine and transmission, which can be claimed at the selling dealer only. These have more mileage or are from an earlier model year but still meet the stringent quality standards.

Toyota Value Lite-rated vehicles (black plate) are without warranty but go through the same stringent standard process of vehicle check to ensure its quality when driven out the dealer. These offer the most agreeable price points, and while they may have relatively higher mileage, are still well worth the purchase.

To help customers meet their budget, they may also avail of affordable financing schemes through Toyota Financial Services (TFSPH), which offers a much-improved affordable package for all T-Sure vehicles, now with longer payment terms and expanded coverage up to nine-year old vehicles. In addition, competitive packages from Toyota Insure and After Sales Service, tailor-fit to the needs of pre-owned car customers, may be availed on top of the purchased T-Sure unit. Best of all, Toyota will also process the change of ownership documentation after purchase.

Finding that perfect pre-owned vehicle is easier with T-Sure dealer outlets nationwide which can offer trade-in deals and selling of pre-owned cars. All outlets are now accepting trade-ins, while T-Sure Retail outlets (vehicles on-site) have increased to 29 outlets as of September 2022. TMP targets to end the year with 33 T-Sure Retail Dealers.

There are 29 Toyota outlets offering T-Sure vehicles on their premises. For Luzon and Metro Manila, these are Toyota Alabang, Toyota Bacoor, Toyota Balintawak, Toyota Bataan, Toyota Batangas, Toyota Bicutan, Toyota Calamba, Toyota Calapan, Toyota Dagupan, Toyota Global City, Toyota Makati, Toyota Manila Bay, Toyota Pasig, Toyota Pasong Tamo, Toyota Plaridel, Toyota Quezon Avenue, Toyota San Pablo, Toyota Santa Rosa, Toyota Silang, and Toyota Taytay, Rizal.

For Visayas and Mindanao, authorized T-Sure retail outlets are Toyota Cagayan de Oro, Toyota Cebu City, Toyota Iloilo, Toyota Lapu-Lapu, Toyota Mabolo, Toyota Mandaue North and South, Toyota Tacloban, and Toyota Talisay.

T-Sure isn’t limited to those looking for quality pre-owned cars. Those who wish to upgrade may now visit any Toyota outlet nationwide to sell or trade in their Toyota vehicle. These will be assessed by highly skilled and accredited assessors. The results of which will be shared for transparency to guarantee that the Toyota owner gets the fair value of their vehicle.
