The two composite projects have a total cost of P290.5 million, according to DPWH Region 6 Director Nerie D. Bueno.

It comprises the Pontevedra Bypass Road Project measuring 2.3 kilometers which passes through Barangays Ilaya and Malagit.

It has a collective amount of P90 million which was released in 2020 and 2021 for the construction of the 1.755-kilometer road section, while P50 million was allotted in 2022 for the remaining 554-meter concrete road that is now halfway completed.

"When finished, Pontevedra Bypass Road will provide a faster and more reliable transportation system for motorists arriving from the municipality of President Roxas to the municipality of Panay and vice versa without passing through the municipal proper," said Bueno.

On the other hand, the P150.5 million, two-lane Roxas City Bypass Road is also part of the multi-year project that started in 2020 and is projected to accomplish before the end of the year.

Spanning 1.7 kilometers, the bypass road will serve as an alternate route for the traveling public, reducing congestion along San Roque Street in Roxas City and providing direct access to Roxas City Airport without passing through the city proper.

The construction of the two bypass road projects is being implementation and supervised by the DPWH Capiz 1st District Engineering Office.
