CEBU CITY – The new chief of the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO 7) expressed readiness to lead the 11,000-strong PRO 7.

“Our mandate is clear, whatever rank we have or whatever position we are occupying, our task is to serve and protect the Filipino people at any rate,” said Brig. Gen. Roderick Augustus Balaran Alba who assumed as new PRO 7 chief on Thursday, Oct. 13.
Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr., chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), presided over the turnover of command ceremony in which Alba officially replaced Brig. Gen. Roque Eduardo Vega who retired from the service.
Alba is a member of the Philippine National Police Academy “Tagapagpatupad” Class of 1992.
Before moving to PRO 7, Alba was the PNP Public Information Office chief for a year.
He is also a former deputy chief of the Information Technology Management Service.
Alba thanked Azurin for the new designation.
“Under my watch, the Police Regional Office 7 and the entire police force of Central Visayas will comply with the mandates of the PNP and continue to serve and protect every Sugbuanon amidst the challenges,” said Alba.
As PRO 7 chief, Alba said the PRO 7 will adopt a new strategic framework that complements the chief PNP’s “MKK=K” or “Malasakit, Kaayusan, Kapayapaan tungo sa Kaunlaran” and the Kasimbayanan program.
Azurin said he is confident that the new PRO 7 director is up to task.
“I am confident that Central Visayas is in good hands with Gen. Alba at the helm. His competence, commitment, and work ethics bespeak his leadership approach, and, so, I entrust him to lead the 11,420-strong personnel of Police Regional Office 7,” Azurin said.
