31 drug suspects nabbed, P1.8 M worth of illegal drugs seized in 24-hour police operation in Calabarzon
CAMP BGEN. VICENTE LIM, Laguna -- Police Regional Office Calabarzon has confiscated P1.8 Million worth of illegal drugs in the last 24 hours as part of its daily operations regionwide, on Oct. 13 and Oct. 14.
Brigadier General Jose Melencio Nartatez, PRO4A regional director, said that the illegal drugs which included shabu and marijuana products were seized by police anti-drug units in 24 separate operations done in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 4A.
A total of 31 suspects were arrested during the said operations, including four high value individuals (HVI) and three street level individuals (SLI) that netted 66.79 grams of shabu and 11.01 kilograms of marijuana with a combined value of P1,879,827.
The arrest and seizure with the highest impact was done against Maria Victoria Perito, a high value individual who yielded 11 kilograms of marijuana bricks amounting to P1.3 million on Thursday evening, Oct. 13, at Brgy. San Roque, Antipolo City, Rizal.
In a separate operation at Brgy. Parian, Calamba City, Laguna, an HVI suspect identified as Rodel Burgos was arrested and caught in possession of more or less 50 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P345,000.
In the nearby province of Rizal particularly in Looc, Cardona, Rizal, two arrested drug peddlers identified as John Vincent Villaran and Neolan Belleza Cardona yielded 13.99 grams of shabu valued at P95,132.
“This is the result of our continuous and intensified campaign against illegal drugs which I have always reiterated in line with my 7-point agenda since my assumption of office as the regional director of PRO CALABARZON,” said Nartatez.
“I enjoin all our personnel to keep the momentum in the various programs and operations in our campaign against illegal drugs and other anti-crime efforts,” said Nartatez.
“Let us also engage our communities through our Kasimbayanan project to draw support from the people and cooperate with us in our objectives toward tranquility and progress in the Calabarzon region,” added Nartatez.
