A 31-year-old traffic enforcer was shot dead by a police officer at Munoz Market on Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) in Barangay Veterans Village, Quezon City, on Thursday, Oct. 13.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Masambong Station (PS 2) identified the suspect as Lt. Felixberto Rapana Tiquil, assigned to the Manila Police District Anti-Carnapping Unit (MPD-DACU).

Police said the incident happened while the victim, Edgar Follero, a member of the QC Department of Public Service (DPOS) and resident of Novaliches, Quezon City, was helping his friend Paul Timothy delos Reyes, 26, a delivery driver, whose motorcycle broke down while travelling along West Zamora St. in Pandacan, Manila.

According to the police report, Follero was on board the broken motorcycle being pushed by Delos Reyes at around 3:40 a.m. on Thursday when the suspect suddenly shot the victim in the body.

Despite the gunshot wound, the victim managed to drive the motorcycle and sought help from the police officer on duty at the corner of EDSA and Roosevelt Ave., Quezon City.

Police said the victim was rushed to Quezon City General Hospital (QCGH) but was declared dead on arrival.

Probers recovered from the crime scene a 9mm Glock 17 GEN4 with 11 ammunition, a cartridge, and a fired bullet.

Tiquil is currently detained at the Criminal and Investigation Unit (CIDU) while the investigation is ongoing, police said.
