Brig. General Alba new director of Police Regional Office-Central Visayas
CEBU CITY – The Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO 7) has a new chief in Brig. General Roderick Augustus Alba.

BGen. Alba assumed his post on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
A former public information officer of the Philippine National Police, BGen. Alba replaced Brig. Gen. Roque Eduardo Vega, who retired after serving the police organization for 31 years.
Vega’s retirement honors and turnover ceremony was scheduled late Tuesday afternoon at the PRO 7 Headquarters.
Vega was named PRO 7 director on Sept. 29 last year.
A day before his retirement, Vega led the turnover of various equipment to PRO 7.
Some of the equipment that were turned over on Monday, Oct. 10, include caliber 5.56 Emtan rifle, Girsan 9mm pistol, enhanced combat helmet, tablet computers, police vehicles and gadgets.
Vega said the turnover of the brand new equipment is part of the PNP’s capability enhancement program.
The Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) received the bulk of the new firearms due to insurgency problem that is facing in the province.
