LUCENA CITY – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the office of House Deputy Majority Leader and Quezon Rep. David Suarez have released the transaction code to enable the 412 beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) in this city to claim their wages for 10 days of community work on Wednesday, Oct. 12.

Suarez said TUPAD has enough funds after defending the budget for the fiscal year 2023 as vice-chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations.
He announced that DOLE will implement the TUPAD Plus program to prepare the beneficiaries for permanent employment after training from DOLE.
Meanwhile, in Sariaya, 380 college students received educational assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development facilitated by Suarez.
TUPAD is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed, and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days but not exceeding 30 days.
Most of the beneficiaries were affected by the pandemic.
Suarez was accompanied during the release of the transaction code by Quezon Provincial Board Member Ferdinand “Bong” Talabong.
