313 volcanic earthquakes recorded at Bulusan Volcano in 24 hours — Phivolcs

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) logged 313 volcanic earthquakes at Bulusan Volcano in Sorsogon in the past 24 hours.
Phivolcs on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 12 raised Bulusan Volcano’s alert status from Level 0 to Level 1 due to “low-level unrest.”
In its 8 a.m. bulletin released on Thursday, Oct. 13, Phivolcs said that the active volcano in Sorsogon had 313 volcanic tremors in the past 24 hours.
Bulusan Volcano also emitted 279 tons of sulfur dioxide per day when it was last measured on Sept. 29.
The volcano’s edifice remained inflated, Phivolcs added.
It reminded local government units and the public that entry into the four-kilometer radius permanent danger zone of Bulusan Volcano is strictly prohibited.
Entry into the two-kilometer extended danger zone on the southeast sector of the volcano is also not allowed because of the increased possibilities of sudden and hazardous phreatic or steam-driven eruptions.
