P965-M parallel bridge in Isabela, hallway done – DPWH


The ongoing P965-million parallel bridge project in Isabela, one of the big-ticket bridge projects of the national government, is now over 51 percent completed, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced on Wednesday, Oct. 12.

DPWH Regional Director Nomer Abel P. Canlas said the construction of the Naguilan Bridge will significantly reduce travel time and delays by decongesting traffic load on the existing bridge along National Highways.

With an allocation amount of P965,368,194.83 million funded under the General Appropriations Act FY 2020-2024, the project is scheduled to be completed in 2024.

Canlas said the bridge will give better connectivity in the province, benefitting over 5,000 daily travelers, and will spur socio-economic development.

"To cater to the increasing number of motorists passing Daang Maharlika, this bridge intends to facilitate durable and provides driving convenience to thousands of daily travelers by providing additional lanes," said Canlas.

The parallel bridge involves the construction of an 887.80-meter bridge and 512.10 linear meters concreting with shoulder improvement, slope protection works, earthworks, drainage structures, and other miscellaneous structures.
