“Lost in translation,” Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri said as he clarified reports on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022, that the Philippines has been placed under a tourism blacklist by China for allowing offshore gaming operations in the country.
This came after the Chinese embassy said there was no such blacklist, even as it asserted that it will continue to protect its nationals against the evils brought about by gambling, particularly, offshore gaming.
With so much at stake, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. was said to be closely monitoring the offshore gaming controversy.
Meanwhile, tropical depression Maymay has slowed down as it moves closer to making landfall in Aurora province on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022.
Former senator Leila de Lima is still at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Hospital, three days after she was taken hostage at the PNP Custodial Center.
