Group from Zamboanga del Norte tops Hermosa Festival streetdance

A group from Barangay Bacong, Salug, Zamboanga del Norte bagged the P500,000 first prize in the much-awaited Streetdance Competition of this year’s Zamboanga Hermosa Festival in Zamboanga City on Tuesday, Oct. 11.

Second was the LGBTQIA dance group from Zamboanga City which won P300,000 while third was that from Barangay Divisoria, Zamboanga City, P200,000.

Four non-winners received P100,000 each as consolation prize.

Dance groups started the parade in front of the Zamboanga City Hall, passing by Guardia Nacional, the Bureau of Fire Protection office, towards the Joaquin Enriquez Memorial Stadium for the contest proper.

Judges were stationed on city streets to watch their performance.

Mayor John Dalipe personally awarded the winners in this year’s streetdance competition, the culminating activity of the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival in honor of the patroness of the City of Zamboanga – Our Lady of the Pillar.
