Grocery store staff in Tanza, Cavite collared for stealing P130K from cash register

TANZA, Cavite – A grocery store helper was arrested for allegedly stealing money from the shop's cash register at Barangay Daang Amaya 1 here on Tuesday, Oct. 11.

The Tanza Municipal Police Station (MPS) identified the suspect as Jeomel Tugade, 27.

Initial investigation showed that the suspect carted away P130,000 from a drawer inside the store.

Upon learning about the incident, the store owner sought help from the police, which resulted in the arrest of the suspect and in the recovery of P30,000.

Tugade is now under the custody of Tanza MPS and is facing a qualified theft charge.
