DOH reports 1,623 new Covid-19 cases

The country reported 1,623 new Covid-19 infections on Wednesday, Oct. 12.

The number of active cases is at 24,283, as shown in the Department of Health's (DOH) latest data.

Metro Manila still posted the highest number of new infections in the past two weeks with 11,198.

It was followed by Calabarzon with 5,349, Central Luzon with 2,753, Davao region with 1,431, and Western Visayas with 981.

The number of recoveries jumped to 3,885,445 while the death toll stood at 63,363.

Since the Covid-19 virus hit the Philippines two years ago, the DOH has already confirmed a total of 3,973,091 cases.
