BOC-Port of Tacloban collects P4.4 B in 9 months

TACLOBAN CITY – The Bureau of Customs-Port of Tacloban earned P4.4 billion from January to September this year.

District Collector Francis Tolibas said that they have already collected 85 percent or P4,428,968,866.87 out of the P5,213,833,359.67 target collection as of September.

Tolibas said they collected their highest revenue in July with P810,235,882.97, 110 percent higher than their collection target of P385,140,000.

It is also 28 percent higher than the P587,280,315.06 collected in July last year.

They also reported a 13 percent surplus in September with P443,469,907.54 compared to the collection target of P390,920,000.

In August, they earned P393,360,374.39, six percent higher than their P369,940,000 monthly target.

Tolibas attributed the accomplishment as it celebrates its 77th founding anniversary this week to the increase in importation compared to last year's third quarter.

He commended employees for their contributions to the revenue generation efforts of the port.
