DPWH-Nueva Ecija deploys equipment in landslide-prone areas in preparation for typhoon ‘Maymay’


NUEVA ECIJA – The Nueva Ecija 1st District Maintenance Engineering Office has deployed its quick response assets in preparation for tropical depression ‘Maymay.’ These quick response assets were deployed in Digdig and Putlan Sections of Daang Maharlika in Carranglan which are prone to landslides and mudflow during rain.

District maintenance Engineer Homer Garcia said that their maintenance team is also stationed at Brgy. East-West Poblacion in Pantabangan to monitor any occurrence of landslides in the Cadaclan and Castañeda Sections of Pantabangan-Canili-Basal-Baler Road.

Pinagpanaan-Rizal-Pantabangan Road is another major road with high susceptibility to mudslides, Garcia said, hence the team response is also monitoring it.

He said that a total of six quick response equipment and 20 maintenance personnel are on standby.

Those personnel are ready to respond in case there is a need to conduct road clearing operations.

Meanwhile, Engr. Ramil Ramos of Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineering Office said that their manpower and equipment have been mobilized in the towns of Gabaldon and Bongabon, specifically in the Dupinga Section of Tablang-Gabaldon Road and Labi Section of Nueva Ecija-Aurora Road.
