In a statement on Monday, Oct. 10, SSS said that the president was referring to its "Contribution Penalty Condonation Programs for Business and Household Employers, and Consolidated Loan Program with Condonation of Penalty for members; and its upcoming Contribution Subsidy Provider Program, and Flexible Payment Scheme Schedule for Farmers, Fisherfolk, and other Self-Employed Individuals in the Informal Economy."

"With programs like these, which are timely, which are sensitive, which are aware of the condition of our employees, that is then the SSS has much reason to celebrate its 65th birthday because the job that you have been doing continues to be of great value to our people," President Marcos said.

He also lauded SSS for doing its job the way "we have asked you to do," such as providing a safety net for people during tragedies and crises.

In response, state-run pension fund President and Chief Executive Officer Michael G. Regino reassured that the agency will continue with its mandate of providing "utmost dedication, competence, and integrity" to its work.

Regino added that SSS will continuously improve for the benefit of its current and future members.

Marcos, SSS said, also expressed his appreciation to the BnB awardees for the strong partnership they have established with the agency.

"May this recognition inspire you and others to work more, to work even harder with the government in order to uplift the lives of our citizens," Marcos said.

These were the BDO Unibank, Inc., Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company, Philippine National Bank, First Consolidated Bank, and Business Mirror for Print, among others.
