Sandro willing to perform duties as presidential son, on one condition

Ilocos Norte 1st district Rep. Sandro Marcos says he has set a condition for himself before he could perform the duties of a presidential son or First Son.

During an interview with local reporters in his district over the weekend, Rep. Marcos made it clear that the no.1 thing on his priority list was to do his job as a congressman.

"Hindi naman ako binoto bilang congressman para maging First Son muna (I wasn't voted a congressman so that I may prioritize being the First Son)," said the 28-year-old, who is the eldest son of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.

"Pero kahit papano, napansin ko na may trabaho talaga ang pagiging presidential son, may trabaho talaga ang pagiging First Son (But somehow I've noticed that being the presidential son, being the First Son has its own duties). And I think I've been able to balance both naman," he noted.

"Ang kundisyon ko naman sa aking sarili ay (The condition that I gave myself was), I will only attend to my duties as First Son, whatever they might be--alam mo naman, so totoo lang, usually, parte po ng trabaho sa pagiging First Son ay andun para kapag stressed yung tatay mo, medyo magiging light-hearted ang conversation (you know, in truth, part of the job of being the First Son is to create light-hearted conversations when my dad is stressed)--pero in all seriousness, sinabi ko naman na I will only attend to my duties as First Son if lahat sa distrito ay OK pa (But is all seriousness. I said that I will only attend to my duties as First Son if everything in my district is still OK)," Rep. Marcos said.

"And I will always prioritize me being the congressman of the 1st district," added the senior deputy majority leader.

"Ang pagiging First Son ay hindi (Me being the First Son is)...that's not something that I chose to be. I chose to be congressman; this takes priority over everything else," he further said.
