Rep. Marcos, the senior deputy majority leader in the House of Representatives, made this candid admission during a press briefing with local reporters in his district over the weekend.

"Twenty-eight years old na ako. Hindi na ako kailangang alagaan ng aking ama, at hindi na ako kailangang alagaan ng aking nanay (I'm 28 years old. I no longer need to be tended to by my father or mother)," he said.

"Kahit mama's boy ako, eh alam naman ng nanay ko, may, you know, may sarili nakong lakad. Alam naman nila yan (Even if I'm a mama's boy, my mother knows, you know, that I have my own way. They know that)," added Rep. Marcos.

The neophyte lawmaker made these statements after a reporter asked him of his father, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., was still able to fulfill his fatherly duties to him despite the Chief Executive’s hectic schedule.

"So you know, I'm very independent na," Rep. Marcos stressed.

But that doesn't mean that he no longer yearns for his parents' company.

"Kahit papano of course miss ko yung mga magulang ko (Of course I miss my parents). I'll tell you the truth, noong nagsimula yung tatay ko ay hindi na kami nagkikita nang masyado kumpara sa noon (when my dad began his job as President I hardly see him anymore compared to before). Pero you know, I came to expect that. And it makes the time that I see them all the more better. So yan ang importante (So that's what's important)," he noted.

The congressman's mother is lawyer Liza Araneta-Marcos.
