3 killed, 3 hurt in Antipolo City ambush

Three persons were killed while their three companions were injured in an ambush by unidentified motorcycle-riding armed men in Sitio Cabading, Barangay Inarawan, Antipolo City, on Sunday night, Oct. 9.

According to the office of Rizal Police Provincial Office (PPO) director Col. Dominic Baccay, the slain victims were identified as Andrei Mosquete, Dennis Payla alias Balingit, and Rodolfo dela Rosa. They died on the spot.

Police said the three victims were riding their motorcycles while their companions -- Eduardo Dumanga, Avenlina Dimangas and a certain Gemina Amores -- were on board a Honda sedan when they were attacked.

The victims were travelling in a convoy coming from Cabading Hospital when three motorcycle-riding men suddenly cut their path and shot them several times.

The three victims onboard motorcycles died on the road, while their companions were injured as their car fell into a ravine during the attack.

The three car occupants were rushed to the hospital where they were undergoing treatment as of this posting.

Police said the suspects fled towards Baras, Rizal.

Baccay has ordered the Antipolo Police to conduct a thorough investigation to establish the identities of the suspects and the motive behind the shooting.

The PPO hinted that the case could be related to a land dispute involving the victims’ family.
