29 wanted persons nabbed in week-long Cordillera police manhunt

CAMP DANGWA, Benguet -- Twenty-nine wanted persons were arrested in a week-long intensified manhunt operation conducted by the Police Regional Office-Cordillera from Oct. 2 to 8.

The Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDMD) said the Baguio City Police Office nabbed 12 wanted persons, followed by the Benguet and Abra Provincial Police Offices with seven each; Ifugao PPO with two; and Apayao PPO with one.

Police arrested the No. 7 most wanted person on the regional level for rape -- Loreno Estigoy Dua, 29, of La Trinidad, Benguet.

Meanwhile, because of intensified police presence and campaign against criminality, 58 municipalities in the Cordillera and two police stations under the Baguio CPO recorded zero crime incidents.

In Abra, 23 had no crimes, Mountain Province, nine; Ifugao, eight; Benguet, seven; Apayao, six, and Kalinga, five.

The Camdas Police Station 2 and Kennon Road Police Station 8 of the BCPO had zero crime incidents.
