Widow fatally struck by car in Cagayan

ALCALA, Cagayan – An 80-year-old widow died after she was hit by a car in Zone 4, Barangay Baybayog, here on Friday, Sept. 30.

Police identified the victim as “Teresita.”

Investigation disclosed that the victim was crossing the national highway when she was struck by the car driven by businessman Aeron Jezrel Valorozo, 26, of Barangay Tungel, Baggao, Cagayan.

The impact threw Teresita on the concrete road for more or less ten meters, police said.

She was taken to the Alcala District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by her attending physician.

The driver and the car’s passengers were unhurt.

Suspect said he was distracted by the light of a vehicle and did not notice the victim.
