PCUP conducts 'capability building program' for urban poor community members


The Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) conducted several Capability Building Programs that aimed to alleviate the living status of the urban poor in different areas of the country.

In a Facebook post, PCUP said that 30 individuals from various urban poor organizations in Cotabato City benefited from the commission's meat processing seminar and training event last Oct. 6.

It was facilitated by PCUP– Field Operations Division for Mindanao and Trade and Industry Specialist Grace Sambo.

Moreover, 35 members of the Sammung Tribal Association, Cotabato City Tribal Housing Village Association, and Cotabato City Fintailan Women's Association of Cotabato City joined PCUP's "Ono Beads Handicraft Making" program.

PCUP also visited the urban poor in CALABARZON where they taught how to make chicken galantina and nuggets for a possible start-up business.

The participants also attended a candle and perfume making lecture, PCUP said.

PCUP assured the public that it will continue strengthening its livelihood programs and services to provide alternative sources of living for the urban poor.
