The Department of Health (DOH) has already recorded more than 160,000 dengue cases nationwide this year.
A total of 160,956 dengue cases were logged from Jan. 1 to Sept. 17, based on the dengue surveillance report of the DOH.
The number of cases this year was 183 percent higher compared to the 56,834 cases recorded during the same period in 2021.
The regions with the highest number of dengue cases were Central Luzon with 31,737, National Capital Region with 16,566, and Central Visayas with 13,761.
Also, 508 deaths due to dengue were reported from Jan. 1 to Sept. 17. During the same period last year, only 203 deaths were logged.
