Winners at 2022 Buil Film Awards in Korea 


“Decision to Leave,” starring Park Hae-il and Chinese actress Tang Wei, emerged as the biggest winner at the 31st Buil Film Awards ceremony held in Busan, South Korea on Oct. 6.

The movie, South Korea’s entry to the 95th Academy Awards, won best film, edging out “Emergency Declaration,” “Broker,” “In Front of Your Face” and “Hansan: Rising Dragon.”

Kim Han-min won best director for “Hansan: Rising Dragon” while “Squid Game” star Lee Jung-jae won best new director for his directorial debut “Hunt.”

Park Hae-il and Tang Wei won best actor and best actress, respectively, for the performance in “Decision to Leave.”

The best supporting actor award went to Im Si-wan of “Emergency Declaration” while Lee Soo-kyung of “Miracle: Letters to the President” grabbed the best supporting actress award.

Singer and actress IU won the Popular Star Award for “Broker” (female) and Byun Yo-han won the Popular Star Award (male) for “Hansan: Rising Dragon.”

The Buil Film Awards started in 1958 but was discontinued starting in 1974 until 2007. It was revived in 2008.

Yu Hyun-mok Film Arts Award - Director Lee Ran-hee, “A Leave”

Popular Star Award (Female) - IU, “Broker”
