Police class aids senior, teen, widow in Kalinga on fourth anniversary


TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC) Class 2018-01 Kasandagan, assigned and serving at the 1503rd Mobile Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15, and Kalinga Police Provincial Office, celebrated their fourth class anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 1 by providing assistance to two persons under medical care and a widow in this city.

Their beneficiaries were:

A BENEFICIARY of the fourth anniversary of the Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC) Class 2018-01 Kasandagan in Tabuk City, Kalinga.

– Nonog Alejo Sr., 78, who was diagnosed with Cerebrovascular Accident Large Infract, a sudden attack of weakness due to an interruption to the flow of blood to the brain which usually affects one side of the body, causing him hemiparesis and speech aphasia.

Hemiparesis is difficulty in walking, standing, and maintaining balance and also causes numbness or tingling on his weaker side.

– Clayton Pataotao, 15, who has nasopharyngeal carcinoma Stage 4, a cancer that starts in the nasopharynx, which is the upper part of the throat behind the nose which causes swollen lymph node in the neck, nasal congestion, frequent ear infections, hearing loss, and headache.

– Widow Veronica dela Cruz.

They received assorted groceries, one sack of rice, and cash.

Members, instead of holding a grand celebration, pooled their resources to help them.

According to them, the gift-giving activity seeks to promote the culture of “bayanihan” (cooperation) to address the needs of the less-fortunate and bring government services closer to the people.

In addition, they said, choosing to reach out showed the PNP core value “makatao” – selfless love and service for people.
