Paul Soriano on him being press secretary: 'Yes, there was a conversation but...'

Film director Paul Soriano recently confirmed that there were indeed talks about him replacing Trixie Cruz-Angeles who has resigned her post as press secretary recently due to health reasons.

In an interview with ABS-CBN, the husband of controversial star Toni Gonzaga shared: “Yes, there was a conversation but I feel that the position needs more qualified people to help the President.“

According to him, he can be of better service behind the scenes by working with the President‘s media and communications team.

Note that Paul did the campaign ads for President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

He was also tapped to direct the latter’s first-ever State of the Nation Address (SONA) held last July.

Meanwhile, Paul reiterated that he knows his strengths.

"I know what I can give him. I am better utilized at the background than be in front of the camera,” he said. “At the end of the day, my main mandate is to send out the message that we have a hard working leader that sadly people don’t see.”

“As I told the President this morning, if there’s a need for me to help, I will be there in whatever capacity. At the sidelines, I’ve been supporting him from the start and I will continue to do that. He can count on us,” he added.
