The Antipolo City government congratulated its former employee for his appointment as assistant director of two divisions in Department of Foreign Affairs’ (DFA’s) Office of American Affairs (OAA).
Mayor Casimiro ‘Junjun’ Ynares, III, in his Facebook post, congratulated Richard Recella who was assigned as assistant director of Division 3 (Central America and Caribbean) and Division 4 (South America and Multilateral Affairs) of the OAA.
Ynares said Recella, who is a Foreign Service Officer, Class IV in DFA, was a former worker at the city’s Public Information Office.
While employed with the city government in 2019, Recella passed the DFA Foreign Service Officer Examination and eventually moved to DFA.
He earned his Master’s Degree in Public Administration in Local and Regional Administration at the University of the Philippines-National College of Public Administration and Governance (UP-NCPAG) under the scholarship program of the city government.
Recella earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Social Studies at the University of the Philippines.
“I’m sure that all the lessons, capacities, and competencies that you have developed throughout your stint in the city government will serve as your guide and inspiration to do well and to make all of us even prouder. Congratulations and God bless, Richard,” Ynares said in his post.
Recella, through his former colleague in the city hall, Rohan Pestańo of the Public Information Office, said that he is inviting the city residents who would like to become a Foreign Service Officer like him, to try it out and learn about the DFA job through https://dfa.gov.ph/fsoexams.
