Shawarma Shack Bayanihan in action


Last Sept. 26, 2022, The Philippines was struck by Super Typhoon Karding, the Philippines’ 11th tropical cyclone for 2022, leaving behind massive destruction of properties that affected more than a hundred thousand families with the majority coming from Regions I, II, III, V, CALABARZON, and CAR.

Some residents of San Miguel, Bulacan receives relief goods from Ervin Andaya (Shawarma Shack's Head of Marketing and Communications), Rowel Elmido (Shawarma Shack's Purchasing Manager) and some personnel of San Miguel, Bulacan PNP.

Shawarma Shack Chief Executive Officer Walther Uzi Buenavista and his wife and Chief Operating Officer Patricia Buenavista believe in the importance of bayanihan. Together with his team, they immediately went into action to help families affected by the super typhoon, coordinating with the local government unit.  Last Sept. 30, 2022, the company went into action and went to communities in San Miguel, Bulacan.

With the help and coordination of PLTCOL, Romualdo Andres, Angelita Garcia, Municipal Social Welfare Aide, and the personnel from 301st MC RMFB3, Shawarma Shack has distributed relief goods to the following barangays: Barangay Tigpalas, Barangay Camias, and Barangay San Vicente.

During the operation, Shawarma Shack Relief Operations team headed by Purchasing Manager Rowel Elmido and Head of Marketing & Communications Ervin Andaya saw first hand the destruction of properties the typhoon left behind. Fallen trees, muddy roads, and roofs detached from homes, yet the residents living in the area still welcomed the team with bright smiles and enthusiasm despite their current situation.

An abundance of gratitude and hope ignited the whole barangay as they receive food packages and drinking water Shawarma Shack prepared for them.

By engaging in community initiatives that embody the true spirit of bayanihan, the company's purpose is to genuinely assist Filipinos in their time of need.

It has been the company’s tradition of participating in relief operations for our fellow Filipinos affected by natural calamities. It is now an effort that will continue as long as the need arises.
