Letran rookie Rafael Go shone brightly and showed a glimpse of what he could provide as the Knights hacked out a 77-69 win against the San Sebastian Stags in the NCAA Season 98 men's basketball tournament Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.

Coming from back-to-back losses, Go repaid the trust given to him by posting 11 points on a perfect 5-on-5 from the field along with two rebounds.
He stepped up big time despite the return of the veteran Louie Sangalang, suiting up for 17 minutes and 45 seconds, to provide for the Knights.
"Grinab ko lang 'yong opportunity na binigay ni coach (Bonnie Tan) kasi laging sinasabi nipa coach na kapag dumating 'yong opportunity, i-grab lang kasi baka 'di na siya bumalik," said the 6-foot-4 forward.
For Go, the playing time entrusted to him was some sort of a morale booster heading into the final games before the end of the first round.
Though the season is far from over, Go said he will continue to "grab the opporunity" when presented and try to gibe as much effort for Letran.
After all, it was just one breakthrough game which saw the potential of a future rising big man for the Knights who was formerly part of the team's reserved list.
"Siguro mag-start sa kumpyansa. Mabo-boost 'yong kumpyansa tapos kapag ginamit ako ulot at binigyan ako, grab ko lang ulit at mag-step up kung kinakailangan."
Tan, for his part, said Go's contributions are just what the Knights needed especially in getting back to their winning ways.
"'Yon kasi 'yong mga hinahanap namin sa mga playees kasi umonti 'yong mga veterans na nagagamit. Paunti-unti kahit paisa-isa, at least nasusuklian nila 'yong trust na binigay ng coaches, ng school para makapag-compete sa NCAA," he added.
