From Dolly De Leon's eye-catching performance in "Triangle of Sadness", another Pinay actress steps into the Hollywood spotlight.

Known for her character in Patay na si Hesus, Born Beautiful, and Manilennials, Cebuana actress Chai Fonacier stars with BAFTA-nominated actor Mark Strong and Eva Green in the upcoming film "Nocebo."

The trailer follows the story of a well-known designer played by Eva suffering from a mysterious illness that confuses her doctors and frustrates her husband played by Mark. Eva's character hires a Filipino caregiver Chai, who then helps her through traditional Filipino folk healing but in the process also reveals a horrifying truth.

In a recent interview with NYLON, Chai, 25 mentioned how excited she is to be working with Eva and even speaking Bisaya on an international film.

"I was excited to see the culture I come from featured here. It’s not all the time one gets to speak in Cebuano in an international film," Chai said.

Her co-star Eva, even took the time to appreciate Chai's performance during the film by posting a photo on her Instagram.

"Chai is truly a great actress with extraordinary depth and sensitivity and she was an incredible partner – she blew me away!" Eva wrote in her caption.

Directed by Lorcan Finnegan, the film is set between the Philippines and Ireland. "Nocebo" already had its world premiere at the Los Angeles’ BeyondFest last Oct. 2, and it will also have its European premiere at Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia on Oct. 14.
