His Eminence presided over the Eucharistic celebration for the staff and volunteers of the Archdiocese of Manila who held a launching activity to open the month of October as Holy Rosary Month.

In his homily during the mass at the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros, Manila, Cardinal Advincula said the holy rosary may be considered as “the compendium of the Holy Bible as it narrates the life of Jesus Christ from His birth, death and resurrection.”

“The Blessed Mother taught us to pray, to be patient and to be faithful, much like her message during her apparitions in Lourdes and in Fatima,” the Church leader said.

Around 1,000 staff and volunteers of the Manila archdiocese gathered at the Manila Cathedral recently to pray the holy rosary before the image of the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary La Naval de Manila. A holy mass followed the activity.

For his part, Fr. Sanny De Claro, Episcopal Vicar for Lay Employees of the archdiocese cited the noble intentions of the activity which is being held for the first time with all the employees of the Archdiocese of Manila in attendance.

“I am glad that we are able to hold this activity for the first time with all the employees of the archdiocese praying the holy rosary. It is only Mary who can gather all of us. At times like these, we really need our devotion to the holy rosary,” Fr. De Claro said over Radio Veritas.

“We pray the rosary as a family, as a community, as a group, individual or as an institution. Our world will be a better world when we pray the rosary,” Fr. De Claro stressed.

Roman Catholics traditionally observe the month of October as Holy Rosary Month with the feast of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary serving as its highlight on Oct. 7.
