The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) held a meeting with the local government unit (LGU) Baguio City and other stakeholders for the reopening of the Baguio (Loakan) Airport for commercial operations.
CAAP Acting Director General Captain Manuel Antonio Tamayo said they will be allocating funds for the rehabilitation of the airport's passenger terminal building.
Tamayo said rehabilitation will also include the improvement of its instrument landing system (ILS) and runway extension by 100 meters.
The CAAP and the Baguio City officials are targeting to resume the airport's commercial operations by the end of the year.
