LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- A total of 38 individuals wanted by the law were arrested during the intensified weeklong manhunt operations in the Cordillera from Sept. 25 to Oct. 1.
Based on the records from the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDMD) for the week, Benguet Police Provincial Office recorded the highest number of arrests with 15 wanted persons, followed by Baguio CPO with 10 arrests.
Kalinga PPO made six arrests, Ifugao PPO had three arrests, Abra PPO with two arrests, and Apayao and Mt. Province PPO with one arrest each.
The weeklong manhunt operation was highlighted with the arrest of two individuals listed as Most Wanted Person, including one listed at the provincial level and one at the municipal level.
Brig Gen. Mafelino Bazar, regional director of the Police Regional Office- Cordillera, said the arrest of 38 wanted personalities was the result of intensified police presence and campaign against criminality during the same period in 57 municipalities in the Cordillera Region.
Two police stations under Baguio CPO recorded zero crime incidents.
In Abra, 21 out of 27 municipalities recorded zero crime incidents while in Ifugao, nine out of 11 municipalities recorded zero crime incidents.
In Mt. Province, eight out of 10 municipalities recorded zero crime incidents while six municipalities in Kalinga and Benguet recorded zero crime incidents.
Further, Loakan Police Station (PS4) and Aurora Hill Police Station (PS6) recorded zero crime incidents out of 10 police stations in Baguio City.
The entire province of Apayao recorded zero crime incidents for the same period.
