Worker dies, 10 hurt in scaffolding collapse at QC construction site
A construction worker died while 10 others were injured after a scaffolding collapsed at a construction site for a housing project in Sto. Cristo Street, Barangay Balingasa, Quezon City, on Tuesday, Oct. 4.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) La Loma Station identified the victim as Francis Tulagan Anzures, 45, a resident of Barangay Baesa, Quezon City.
He was rushed by Barangay Balingasa health workers to the Quezon City General Hospital (QCGH) where he was declared dead on arrival at about 9:40 a.m.
The 10 other casualties - nine construction workers and one foreman - were also brought to the QCGH for medical treatment. They all sustained minor injuries, police said.
Based on an initial report, the QCPD said the metal scaffolding suddenly collapsed and fell on the victims around 9 a.m. on Tuesday while they were working at the construction site.
