In a presser on Sept. 30, Poa said that the incentive is “ready and will be released by Oct. 5” because based on the guidelines, the said cash benefit “should not be released earlier than Oct. 5.”
“Definitely, we will release this incentive by Oct. 5,” he added.
DepED has been giving teachers a WTDIB in the amount of P1,000 per public school teacher in line with the government’s commitment to faithfully support teachers for their dedication to delivering quality education.
Introduced during the administration of former Secretary Leonor Briones, the grant of WTDIB recognizes the vital role of educators in addressing the challenges in the education sector.
Meanwhile, Poa said that preparations for the 2022 NTD/WTD celebration have already been ongoing.
“I also believe that in their respective schools, they have specific celebrations that they will do,” Poa said in a mix of English and Filipino.
In a memorandum released on Sept. 30, DepEd announced that the DepED- Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) will host this year’s NTD/WTD celebration.
