OPPO Pad Air: As an extra gadget after a smartphone, why not?


Some smartphones just got bigger with clearer display and bad-ass features. So do we still need another gadget say, a tablet, to fulfill our daily mobile lives?

First, the Oppo Pad Air unabashedly sells its large display on top of some basic features found in smartphones -- even the pricey ones. It's got a chipset that works like a horse during browsing, especially in e-learning and business chores. It play loud and is on for a long time.

The Oppo Pad Air will impress you at first look and feel of the design and the build quality of the tablet. The desert sand dunes-inspired texture at the back complements the solid metallic chassis.

The power button is on the left side just near the two of the four speaker grills with the the Dolby Atmos trademark to remind you of that bonus add-on. On top are the volume buttons along with two microphones and the the microSD card slot. The two remaining speaker grills and a Type-C port for charging are on the other side.

Above the display is the 5MP front-facing camera for video calls while the primary 8MP camera is located at the back.

It features a 10.36-inch 2K IPS display works well indoor conditions, the colors are vibrant and the 2,000 x 1,200-pixel resolution plus the Dolby Atmos support through the speakers completes the travel entertainment combo. It runs on Oppo’s ColorOS 12.1 based on Android 12.

The Oppo Pad Air runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset on a 4GB RAM and options of 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. We tried some simple multitasking eg. web browsing, social media monitoring, games and movies, and we're satisfied. 

The Oppo Pad Air boasts of a satisfying battery life its 7,100 mAh battery, plus the 18W SuperVOOC fast charger treat. The build quality is okay and is quite light at just 440 gms.

Simple multi-tasking is a breeze with the Oppo Pad Air. It's a better travel companion than a smartphone because of bigger screen and the quad speakers with Dolby Atmos. Bigger is better is just about right with the Oppo Pad Air.
