After coming back from his unannounced trip to Singapore, Marcos formally publicized his weekend trip which happened in time for the Singapore Grand Prix through his social media account.

"They say that playing golf is the best way to drum up business, but I say it's Formula 1. What a productive weekend!" he said in an Instagram post on Monday night, Oct. 3.

The President made clear that he was invited to meet other "business friends" willing to invest in the country.

"It was fulfilling to have been invited alongside several dignitaries and to have met new business friends who showed that they are ready and willing to invest in the Philippines," he said.

This was a reiteration of the Malacañang's statement on Monday morning that Marcos' trip to Singapore was an offshoot of his state visit to the country last month.

He, however, did not elaborate the details of the meeting and said that he "will be sharing more details" on the trip "at a later time."

Marcos' Instagram post was also accompanied with a series of photos featuring him, First Lady Marie Louise "Liza" Araneta Marcos, and foreign dignitaries.

Singapore’s Minister of Manpower Dr. Tan See Leng, who were among the officials the President met during the trip, said in a Facebook post that the meeting with the different world leaders on the sidelines of the Singapore Grand Prix reaffirmed bilateral economic relationships.

The Palace did not make a formal announcement about the trip and only confirmed it Monday morning.
