UP to officially launch its channel on Cignal TV this October

A television network operated by the University of the Philippines (UP) called TVUP is set to be officially launched on Cignal TV Channel 101 on Oct. 11.

TVUP is an online television network that delivers "free content for information and educational purposes."

Since its establishment in November 2016, UP said that it saw the value in producing additional learning materials for its students and faculty as well as for other state colleges, universities, institutions, and the general public.

Last June 23, UP and Cignal TV formally sealed their partnership through a signed memorandum of agreement.

TVUP's upcoming presence in the digital channel is a "perfect opportunity to nurture lifelong learning in our people," said UP President L. Danilo Concepcion in a UP report.

This will enable UP to extend its knowledge resources to many "whether these are students looking to enrich their lessons or ordinary citizens who wish to gain more knowledge and develop skills," he added.

TVUP has almost 600 digital productions as per the report, these include documentaries, lectures, infotainment shows, magazine shows, and more.
