Man arrested for alarm and scandal, possession of firearm in QC


A man was arrested for alarm and scandal and possession of firearm in Quezon City on Saturday, Oct. 1, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director, Police Brig. Gen. Nicolas D Torre III said on Sunday, Oct. 2.

Police Lt. Col. Alex DJ Alberto, the Station Commander of Holy Spirit Police Station (PS 14), identified the suspect as Juan Carlos Zambrona Hipolito, 37, a resident of Brgy. San Bartolme, Quezon City.

According to the police, witness Amero Solaiman, a security guard, was on duty when he saw Hipolito causing trouble at a gasoline station along Congressional Ave., Ext. Brgy. Pasong Tamo, Quezon City at around 3 a.m. on Oct. 1.

The suspect then pulled a gun from his car which prompted the witness to pacify him.

Hipolito left the area and Solaiman immediately reported the incident to PS 14.

Mobile beat patrollers and follow-up operatives of PS 14 then conducted a hot pursuit operation which resulted in the arrest of the suspect.

Seized from the suspect’s possession was a caliber 9mm CZ P10-C pistol with serial no. D139517 loaded with nine ammunitions.

Hipolito will be charged with Alarms and Scandals of the Revised Penal Code (RPC) and violation of R.A. 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Police Brig. Gen. Torre III, meanwhile, lauded the alertness of PS 14 responding police officers and their swift action in the incident.
