Megastar Sharon Cuneta revealed that she was barred from entering the Hermes fashion house during a trip to South Korea recently.

"Pumunta ako dito para bumili ng sinturon sa Hermes, ayaw akong papasukin," said Sharon in her latest vlog entitled "Sharon in Seoul Part 3" which was uploaded on YouTube on Sept. 30.

Then later, in the same vlog, Sharon and her companions went shopping at Louis Vuitton, another French luxury boutique.

The megastar could be seen sharing a light moment with some of the staff members of Louis Vuitton. She also received a bottle of champagne and flowers from the Louis Vuitton team as gifts. "I got champagne and flowers. Thank you, Louis Vuitton. Thank you."

Following a shopping galore at Louis Vuitton, Sharon and her companions returned in front of the Hermes store and told the guy at the door: "See, I bought everything." Sharon showed the Korean guy the shopping bags from Louis Vuitton.

Despite the snub from Hermes, Sharon did not take the incident seriously. Instead, she just laughed it off.

"Don’t feel bad about Hermes not letting me in! Lots, if not all name-brand stores even in the U.S. allow a certain number of people in at a time - sometimes 10 lang, while the others wait in line outside of the store. Lots also ask you to make an appointment.

"Covid measures nila yan so okay lang. Sayang lang talaga belt lang naman ang balak ko eh kaya ayoko pumapasok sa ibang stores na di ko plano puntahan ang dami kong nakikita eh!" the singer-actress wrote on her post.

Sharon had a similar incident with popular American television personality Oprah Winfrey, who was humiliated when she was barred from entering Hermes fashion house in 2014.

Oprah has settled her feud with Hermes.

For the past years, Sharon has fallen in love with South Korea, which she calls a happy place.

In 2020, Sharon showed her K-Pop and K-Drama souvenir items in one of the episodes of her YouTube show.

“I love Korea, Korean food, K-Drama, K-Pop,” said Sharon as she displayed tons of CDs, pillows, posters, and photos, of Korean celebrities in her living room.

Korean superstars Gong Yoo, star of the blockbuster film “Train To Busan,” and heartthrob Hyun Bin of “Crash Landing On You” fame, are some of her favorite actors.

“Gusto ko si Gong Yoo …. halata naman na mahal ko siya. Pinakamahal ko ngayon si Hyun Bin. Actually hindi. Parang pantay lang sila ni Gong Yoo sa puso ko. Sumisingit pa nga si Lee Min-ho pero parang hindi ko kaya. Parang ang dami na niyang fans. Kasama pa niya ang true love niya ngayon,” Sharon said.

Sharon, wife of Senator Kiko Pangilinan, also then praised the Korean musical acts SHINee and NCT as among her favorites.

“Ang dami ko pong posters pero alangan naman isabit ko po sa kwarto ko. Meron na po akong asawang tao at 54 na ako. Pero bakit? There’s no age limit in being a fan of K-Pop groups or K-Drama. If they make you happy, hey you only live once.

“And I used to never understand K-Pop and K-Drama fans. Hindi ko masakyan pero walang basagan ng trip.

“And now there’s nothing I would like to do than to learn to speak Korean. So I could understand all the K-Dramas better.

“Just do what makes you happy and continue being happy and be inspired by what inspires you. Just listen to your heart. Like me, I like Shinee, I like K-Pop. I love K-drama. Whatever makes you happy, Hey! One life to live, especially now, may pandemya. Bakit ba naman hindi? So enjoy everyone. Whatever it is that makes you happy. Do that!” Sharon said, two years ago.
